It was Patrick's birthday late last month and he usually takes the day off but due to being snowed under with work, we pushed it back to last Friday. We decided to take him to the Boathouse in Palm Beach. I have a small crush on their Mushroom Toast - enoki mushrooms w rocket, grilled haloumi and macadamias on gluten free toast and I talked him into ordering the same. Levi got his choppers into a huge bacon and egg roll and Fletch couldn't go past the pancakes with fresh berries and mascarpone cream. And of course some of their divine freshly brewed chai all round. While I'm on the subject of Chai, can any cafe owners reading this please throw that crappy powdered/syrup chai in the trash, it's wrong in every way. Footnote... Troubadour in Manly has a great freshly brewed chai latte as well.
Even on a wet rainy day the Boathouse is such a picturesque location, it is well worth the trip.
